’The illusionary truth’
When I create my miniature worlds, I don't try to exactly match the world as we know it.
In principle, all basic shapes are recognizable, as we have labeled them. But the subtle difference is in the details that just don't seem to match. Proportions that are just not right, plants that grow differently...
Recognition of the labeled elements misleads the eye for a fraction of a second, for a moment we think that we are looking at 'the real' world.
But the alienation is too obvious and after these few first seconds we understand that we are being misled.
But now you may ask yourself: When can we actually trust our senses blindly? Do they always record the truth? Or is that truth also just an illusion?
